Help Mosa Hammad Evacuate His Family to Egypt

Don protégé
Hello everyone my name is Lee De Saussure I live in the US in Arkansas. I am organizing this campaign for my friend Mosa Hammad and his family.

Updated: 5/11/24

Mosa is was registered and approved to be able to cross into Egypt through Rafah with his parents. However, due to the Rafah invasion the border is now closed and no one knows for until when. This is the most devastating update to give because Mosa was expected to cross this week. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the border being closed for the time being the goal of $42,000 is NOT final! The family is currently burning through funds trying to survive displacement. Reminder this campaign is not only for evacuation.

Please keep supporting the campaign. They don't know what's next for them. They are trying to stay with family in Khan Yunis but the situation is unlivable to no access to any water, aid, or even land for shelter due to the immense amount of destruction. The occupation wants to wipe out Rafah. The family still needs support. They cannot afford to be displaced again and dealing with the prices rising. Funds will still be for evacuation and especially necessities.

Mosa and the rest of his 7 other family members consisting of his other siblings and relatives will be separated in Rafah when the border opens again. It is urgent to meet $40,000 to attain the funds needed to register for them to cross. $2,000 is to help cover the fees taken from the GFM site. Please help to keep this family together. The goal may be raised due to the family's displacement.

Mosa’s reservation ticket to cross as of 4/22/24

Mosa Hammad is a dear friend of mine currently stuck in Rafah. He is a self sufficient, highly driven person and law university graduate who will do anything to help his family especially his mother. Leaving Gaza is a very difficult decision to have to make, but given the urgency of the situation this is the only way to guarantee they have hope to find refuge. They have lost their home and have nothing left to return to. Mosa’s father has type one diabetes and has little access to his daily medication and insulin. He is facing health issues due to his living conditions. Life is very difficult in the displacement camps for them and it is unbearable seeing his parents suffer in this way.

This fundraiser will help to secure the funds needed for Mosa and his 7 family members to be able to move through the Rafah crossing, provide him with enough to rebuild in Egypt and find work to provide for his family. Recently his brother and sister in law, Jamal and Eman, were able to evacuate through to Egypt. Eman has American citizenship while Jamal does not. She has been able to leave for months but stayed and campaigned funds for her husband to be able to leave with her to America. They will temporarily be in Egypt until they can be able to head home and reunite with Eman’s family in the states. If Mosa and his parents aren’t able to cross soon this would mean he wouldn’t be able to see his brother again for many years due to the rest of his family being unable to enter America.

Hopefully through your support we can help him in this decision. As of right now this is the only fundraiser we are currently working on. The amount is being raised to prepare for housing and crossing for the rest of his family. The goal is not final and will be raised in increments until further notice. We are trying our best to keep the goal reasonable since campaigning is very difficult to reach the actual amount needed. I respect his decision and want to be able to help organize this for him so he can be able to achieve this as soon as possible.

I will provide updates through here and our instagram accounts. I will not be benefitting from these donations by any means and will provide proof of transfers that the funding is being sent directly to Mosa and his family. We greatly appreciate your support in donating and sharing this fundraiser. I'm so glad to have been able to come into contact with so many people at this time of need. I am even more grateful to have made a new friend and to be able to give him some hope. God bless everyone and thank you.

He is line 123 on @OperationOliveBranch’s master list here.
