Help Mommom Get Mobile

Two years ago, our mom went in for a simple surgery and, unfortunately, ended up with a broken back which led to 18 months of hospital stays and rehabilitation homes. She is finally home, however she has endless medical appointments which leaves her to rely on Paratransit for transportation (which adds to her discomfort while she is kept waiting for pickup). She is confined daily to either a hospital bed or a wheelchair in which she can only sit in for up to two hours. We are in need of a medically-equipped van to not only get her to her appointments but also out to the activities she once enjoyed like the library, parks, Barnes and Noble, etc. She has endured more than one person should have to but has maintained a positive and sassy attitude. Unfortunately, her prognosis will not improve, but our family would like to keep her as comfortable and mobile as possible.
