My Brother-In-Law Mike Thibault (Mike Tebo Band) is a musician, teacher, landscaper and a 10-year cancer survivor. He is married to my Sister Jo-Ann for 18 years.
Three months ago, he went to his primary care physician with symptoms of unexplained memory loss. During that visit it was discovered he had an enlarged lymph node on his neck. Given his prior history of NHL, he was sent out for multiple tests.
Fast forward; His team at Dana Farber/Brigham&Womens: 3 MRI’s, PET scans, multiple lymph node biopsies, 3 Lumbar punctures, EEG’s, CT’s, a brain biopsy, and labs sent out to the Mayo Clinic, UCSF; Michael is Diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the neck/throat, Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkins Lymphoma in his chest, and a virus in his brain that has attacked his frontal lobe.
Michael has been scheduled for his first treatment on Friday, Nov 22nd. It will be surgery, neck dissection to remove his cancerous lymph nodes and Trans-Oral Robotic surgery in his throat. His recovery will be 4 weeks and very painful.
When Michael recovers from his neck surgery, he will then have to be treated for his NLP Hodgkins Lymphoma, which will include extensive chemotherapy treatment and stem cell transplant.
Mike’s treatment and recovery is expected to exceed 6 months, in which he is unable to work with a loss of income. Contributions for Mike and Jo-Ann’s medical expenses, mortgage and household bills to get them through this is sincerely appreciated.
Everyone who knows Mike, knows how self-less he is, always willing to volunteer his time to help neighbors, family, friends with whatever they need. Mike is a worker; needs to be doing “something” 7-days a week. He is there for everyone, anytime.
