Help Michelle and Julian Through Medical Crisis

My name is Sharon and I am Michelle’s sister-in-law.

As many of you may already know, Michelle was admitted to the hospital on September 11th and has been fighting for her life for the past two weeks. By the grace of God, along with many, many prayers, and the support of her husband, Julian Ruiz, her sister, Melissa Cindy Molina, and some of their closest friends and family, Michelle overcame an aggressive and very invasive bacterial infection known as MRSA, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by a type of staph bacteria that can become resistant to many of the antibiotics used to treat ordinary staph infections. MRSA infection is a life-threatening bacterial infection if left undiagnosed. Unfortunately, it took the doctors a little over a week to reach Michelle’s diagnosis. Michelle was not only fighting against this terrible bacterial infection, she was, more importantly, fighting against time! During this week of the unknown, Michelle sadly wholly lost vision in her right eye. Michelle also underwent surgery to access the optical nerves of both her right and left eyes as part of her diagnosis process. Her left eye, consequently, is fragile and sensitive, with a long recovery road ahead.

During her time at Jackson Memorial, Michelle has also been diagnosed with Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the body's tissues and cells. As you can only imagine, given the circumstances, Michelle, Julian, and their family's lives have changed unexpectedly and drastically! During these challenging times, Michelle needs the support of all of her friends, family, friends of friends, family friends, and all of those who want to show their support to a mother and wife while she navigates this new and, right now, very scary chapter of her life. Michelle is the mother of three young adult sons, two of whom she can proudly say serve our country! And a fantastic bonus mom to a little girl. She and Julian have formed a beautiful family; in fact, they married a little over a year and a half ago.

With this GoFundMe, we hope to gather enough money to help Michelle and Julian with medical expenses and catch up on other expenses that have accumulated during Michelle's stay at the hospital. They have both been unable to work during this time. They are still looking forward to at least 2-6 weeks to remove the bacteria from Michelle's bloodstream. They have a long road ahead, and any help is greatly appreciated to alleviate some of the pressures they will inevitably face.
