The Amazing Micheal Monterosso Fights Leukemia

On August 15, 2019, we received the devastating news that our youngest son Micheal was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), that has now relapsed 3 times and just will not go away. He's been undergoing chemotherapy for nearly 4.5 yrs, has received 2 Car-T cell therapies and a Bone Marrow Transplant; all of which have failed to provide lasting remission. We've been informed that we are out of curative options and that Micheal's remaining time with us is limited.

Micheal is a gift, he is pure joy. He is a beautiful soul that loves everyone around him and gives that love without reservation. He loves to laugh, make other people laugh, give hugs (he gives the best hugs!), spend time with his brother & sister, go camping and LOVES Spiderman! Micheal is like the light in the dark, he has a smile that can light up a room.

The road ahead of us is unkown. We have no way of knowing how much time we have left with him, just that at some point we will come to the end of the journey.

Micheal is currently receiving chemo in an attempt to keep the disease at bay so that we will be able to spend as much time with him as possible.

In the coming weeks, months we would love nothing more than to be able to do some of the things we've been putting off due to treatment schedules. Such as, take a camping trip that Micheal has been asking for, build a tree house, visit loved ones, and make other lasting memories.

Micheal has fought this battle like a warrior, never complaining, never giving up and always greeting each day with a smile. We will continue to hope for a miracle while we shower him in love.
