Help Micah Afford Their Trans-Affirming Surgery!

Hi! My name is Micah. I'm a trans person living in Brooklyn and I'm asking for the support of my friends and community to afford gender-affirming surgery.

I have been living paycheck to paycheck for the past few years and surgery will keep me home recovering (and not working) for several weeks. The surgeon's office reached out on April 7th and was able to last-minute schedule me for May 11th (yay!)- but this has left me unable to save enough money to feasibly miss work for the recovery period. Unsurprisingly, my various jobs (music teacher, barista, and freelancer) do not offer sick days, and missing work for multiple weeks will devastate my finances. I am asking for community support so I can stay afloat and not risk my health and recovery to make rent.
