Please Help Mend Chevy’s Heart

Chevy is a 7 yr old Amstaff, desperately needs    help. December 25th Chevy was taken to emergency, with what looked like to be hives covering her     body, she was given 5 day course of steroids and pain killers. 5 days later Chevy visited our local vet after the “hives” still covering her body. New lumps started forming, within an hour they became infected. Bursting taking fur and skin off. It was also found, Chevy had an ear infection, respiratory  infection. (How I didn’t pick this up). Chevy wasn’t her normal happy self. Not eating or drinking. her heart rate was up, breathing to fast.  Chevy had a chest X-ray, blood work. Chevy immediately started 2 different antibiotics, one for her skin, the other for her lungs and ear.  Chevy’s chest X-ray, showed she had an enlarged heart, taking up most room in her chest cavity, pushing on your lungs and trachea.  I took the advise given to me, to start costly heart medication. On the 3rd day of this medication, Chevy wasn’t herself. She didn’t want to be touched, eat, go outside. She just hid all day. coaxing her out of her hiding spot, Chevy’s chest was pounding with her heart beat. Her breathing rate was fast. Her gums yellow. I immediately called the vet.  Chevy was reacting to the heart medication, it was poisoning her. Chevy has been referred to a heart specialists, to have hole in her heart repaired.  Chevy is the best friend/companion to my 6yr old special needs son. Chevy and my son have been inseparable. If the two are separated Chevy will steal his clothes to make a nest, if she is moody with him she hides his toys. His camping, swimming, fishing buddy. if my boy is having a bad day Chevy will sleep on his legs, tight against his body.  Chevy has been my rock thru a rough separation, my cuddle buddy on my bad days, she has stayed thru all the tears.
