Help Melissa cover PSD & Training costs

My name is Melissa and I reside in  New York City, Manhattan. I have a small 1 bedroom Apartment, I am single, no kids and I would live to share with  You some personal experiences about myself in detail.

ABOUT ME:

I have a long history of mental illnesses since childhood such as PTSD, major depressive disorder, OCD  and anxiety/panic disorders from several traumas and bad experiences. I found so many coping methods and habits that works well for me but it isn't consistent. One of the main conditions im currently suffering with is anxiety attacks and agoraphobia which got intense after coming out of a violent and abusive relationship for about 3 years recently. I'm recovering slowly in my own way but it's inconsistent.


I don't smoke or drink. On my down time I enjoy Playing Video games and walking around the city like central park and the piers has been my coping method and socially works great for me with my conditions and habits but it's not enough mentally-emotionally. 

INFORMATION(Breakdown):

Psychiatric (PSD) /service dogs are A lot of money average $15,000-30,000+ (for the dog, training and everything else needed that's included) and that's intimidating. This was the main reason I didn't take my therapist suggestion for it, was financial reasons. I didn't realized the High cost and couldn't afford it. Now since I'm more informed about my options im ready to take this step again...

I'm considering is miniature poodle or poodle mix. The small -medium size is practical for me (I have severe chronic back pain) and for my living situation.

Funds goes towards: 

PSD VS. ESA differences and process

Pet purchase ~ $2500-3000

Psychiatric Service Dog online Training (cheaper option) and licensing 

Anything left over: 

• Open Pet Savings account

•  Pet insurance covered first 3+ years at least IF possible ( up to $2500)

• Pet fees not covered in purchase  

• Pet gear, supplies and food Amazon wish list

Adopting has been a bit difficult since I can't find the prefered dog on these conditions. Most are too big, not fit for small apartments,  untrainable, untamed and/or has special needs that require frequent treatments I may not be able to afford. Older Dogs might very also experience trauma and/or stuck in their ways (stubborn, untrained, aggressive etc)

  I would love to have a sound mind and heart knowing I can provide the best pet care possible without financial stress. I've done my research and this fund is the only way I can achieve this goal afterwards I can care for it independently.

If I'm able to purchase the puppy earlier than expected and get closer to my goal, I chosen to have it as an certified emotional support dog ESA until I can get enough funds and documentation needed from my therapists for training as a PSD. I'm nervous about not getting it trained in time and waiting too long after purchasing the puppy,  I don't mind having it as a pet but the training will help with my mental health conditions.
