Help me walk pain free and unaided.

Hi my name is Gary, I am 39years of age and for the past 7years I have been trying to recover from a serious equestrian accident that happened in November 2014 on a secluded country road in County Down, Northern Ireland and involved 2 horses and a cyclist. Both horses and the cyclist where uninjured but unfortunately the accident left me with several life changing injuries /conditions:

1. Multiple fractures to the calcaneus (heel bone) in my right foot, which has never healed correctly and left me with osteoarthritis in my right ankle and also osteoporosis in my lower back, hips and knees. The right ankle has been requiring surgery for over 2years now and the injury is deteriorating at a rapid rate hence the need to wear an inflatable air boot and walk with 2 crutches now.

2. A neurological condition called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E). Clinically, "Myalgic" is used to refer to the characteristic muscle symptoms, "Encephalomyelitis" to the brain symptoms. Pathologically, encephalomyelitis indicates inflammation within the brain and spinal cord. This condition leaves me extremely tired, fatigued with muscle spasms and at times brain fog and issues with body temperature regulation and an overactive bladder.

3. Osteoporosis in the spine with a loss of height, osteoporosis in my hips and knees and osteoarthritis in my injured foot.

I have set up this page to try raise the necessary funds needed to pay for my much needed, life changing surgery and rehabilitation privately, given the rapidly declining condition of my ankle and the Corona Virus situation having haulted NHS surgeries for the past 18months in Northern Ireland and unfortunately isn't showing any signs of starting up again anytime soon.

I've spent most of my 30's either in an air boot, on crutches, in a prosthetic brace. It has taken a lot of pride swallowing and encouragement from numerous friends and family to set up this page. I just hope they are all correct that my story is interesting enough and that I am thought well enough of to make a good dent into the private costs I have been quoted.

Should I exceed the amount of money required for my surgeries I would like to donate the excess to another patient in a similar situation to myself, as it really does take it's toll on not just your physical health but also your mental health.
