Help Me Replace My Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle

Donation protected

Can you help me replace my Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle?

It’s with great humility that I ask for my friends help today to buy a replacement for my Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.

For 3 years I have been blessed to be able to make transporting people who utilize wheelchairs in their everyday life my primary source of income.

I HAVE ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS OFFER MY SERVICES ON A SLIDING SCALE AND AT TIMES COMPLETELY PRO BONO.

TESTIMONIAL 1

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon Scott and his services at a much needed time. It was becoming increasingly more difficult transporting my mom places and Scott was a lifesaver. He was very prompt and reliable but also made great conversation with my mom and made sure she was safe. I could truly tell that his heart was happy knowing that he was making others happy. He is an asset to the handicap community.

WHY I NEED YOUR HELP

I take great pride in doing everything I can to ensure that I am available and ready to do my job. I started off leasing a wheelchair accessible van from Uber at a very exorbitant weekly rate. When Uber did away with their leasing program, I bought a wheelchair accessible vehicle of my own. I have used that van for 1.5 years now.
This past week my wheelchair accessible van has begun to give me trouble. With my income extremely diminished at this point, I have been contemplating my next move.

These last 11 months have been tough financially. Most of my clients are at a high risk if they were to be infected with Covid-19. Most of them are being very careful and are traveling at an absolute bare minimum. I have taken great care to follow appropriate safety protocols so that I can remain a viable and safe alternative for them when they need to travel.

As a result I have chosen to completely abandon my bread and butter income source, driving for Uber on Friday and Saturday nights.
This is far too risky, and, quite frankly not a very promising venture at this point.

The fact is I take great joy in helping people with few options enjoy some quality of life, or in many cases simply survive their everyday needs to get to doctor appointments or other necessary appointments. I love what I do.

Rather than buy another van that I will likely have to replace soon, I am looking at buying a van that I simply cannot afford to buy right now.

THE VAN I WANT TO BUY

The world works in mysterious ways!

A trusted dealer, who himself is a paraplegic, came up with an incredible value on a rear loading Dodge Grand Caravan with a longer area to accommodate a wheelchair than my previous Grand Caravan. I am very happy with the description of this van and I trust the dealer. I will see it on Monday but I feel confident that this will work very well.

I HAVE ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS OFFER MY SERVICES ON A SLIDING SCALE AND AT TIMES COMPLETELY PRO BONO.

I promise anyone who contributes to this campaign that I will pay it forward.

I am dedicated to driving anyone who cares to lobby for the rights of those with disabilities to Washington DC, or anywhere else that their important work may take them.  I will continue to offer to those who cannot get to voting polls to take them so they can exercise their rights safely.

I am currently trying to volunteer with the Montgomery County Volunteer Medical Corps to help seniors and people with disabilities to arrange for vaccinations and to transport them  to their appointments.

I will continue to work on a sliding scale to try to make transport possible for those with little or no options.

It is very difficult for me to ask for help. But this is the best way to ensure that I am equipped to do what I love and what I feel I do very well.

I have been blessed to be able to do this for more than three years now. Please help me continue to do this during these unprecedented and difficult times.

Thank you for your consideration and don’t hesitate to ask if you have a need for accessible transportation or know someone who does.

Testimonials

Scott Goldstein has been a Godsend to my family and to me. In 2018 his services appeared in my Facebook feed, like a miracle, just in time to be able to get to Jefferson Neurosurgery for preoperative appointments,  surgery and post-op. After cleared for physical therapy,  Scott came to Morrisville to take me to and from Magee, three miles away. Since my rehabilitation,  I have called Scott to take the family to Center City for a wedding weekend and for follow-up appointments with my surgeon.

Scott is a consummate professional. He has always been on time, very helpful with my lack of technological ability to sign into an app, and an excellent driver. I typically get horrifically motion sick when riding in a vehicle. I have never had this with Scott Goldstein driving. I truly appreciate Scott for his professionalism and kindness. I know firsthand that Scott needs a newer accessible van to continue his quest to help those in need.

Scott has driven my son on various occasions from Bensalem PA to Malvern PA. The service he provided was affordable it was at the rate of uber and lyft. My son is disabled and needed to go to physical therapy each week. Scott was a reliable driver for us . we never had to worry about getting stranded at the hospital. Scott was always courteous and engaging with my son who is nonverbal.

My husband was paralyzed and we were limited in where we could go and how we would get there. Scott was discovered accidentally by my daughter . He drove us to a restaurant for the first time in 2 years.  He became our personal hero.  Whenever we needed a ride, even to our daughter’s in New Jersey, Scott always found a way to help us out.  Scott is someone caring, helpful, personable, and a friend !!!!

Scott provided a valuable service transporting my wife at a very trying time while she battled brain cancer. He was always very courteous and caring and went way above to make sure she always felt comfortable and safe.

Scott took amazing care of our mother on many rides to family events the last 2 years of her life. Not only was he responsive and always on time, but he also took the time to talk with my Mom and our family on every occasion. We always knew we could count on Scott to transport Mom in her wheelchair with great conversation along the way. We appreciate his kindness and dedication.

Our family counted on Scott exclusively (he was very popular and booked up quickly) to transport Mom in her wheelchair to holiday parties and family gatherings. One of us would accompany her and we quickly learned what an attentive, kind person Scott is. Grateful to Scott for making these drives so pleasant and interesting.

I can personally attest to the exemplary quality of personal service offered by Scott Goldstein as a provider of wheelchair accessible van transportation. I am a wheelchair using quadriplegic and have utilized Scott in this capacity on many occasions.

Scott pays meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding safety. Specifically, he uses state-of-the-art wheelchair lockdown equipment and carefully assures that the wheelchair is securely fastened and stabilized. I have traveled with him on such harrowing thoroughfares as Kelly drive, and have never experienced the slightest bit of wheelchair slippage or movement.

Scott is flexible and generous when accommodating appointment times, scheduling needs, etc. In fact, on more than one occasion, my own handicapped wheelchair van had broken down and left me stranded. In a state of desperation, I called on Scott who was able to “drop everything”, pick me up, and safely transport me home. Had it not been for Scott, I literally do not know what I would have done.

Scott is a man of uncommon compassion and dedication who realizes the importance of this service for disabled people who lack options in many cases. He is laid-back, funny, personable, and has a generosity of spirit that is infectious.

Please consider donating whatever you can afford to assist him with purchasing a new vehicle so he can continue with this important endeavor.
