Help Liz (Tinks) on her IVF journey

Hey, my name’s Liz or ‘Tinks’ to those of you lucky enough to be family. I work as a paediatric nurse in A&E and absolutely love my job and despite having a wonderful life there’s something missing.

So last year after a few years of planning I started the process of getting pregnant. Who knew it was going to take longer than 30 seconds hey ‍♀️ but being single, 37 and always just taking for granted that by now I’d have my own little Brady bunch meant it isn’t that straight forward. The clinic I’ve chosen managed to find me a sperm donor match pretty quickly despite all the free offers off my gay friends this has been paid for and is probably sat in some freezer just waiting to go! I’ve since had various tests and scans (all paid for privately as this has been my only option) and I’m now finally ready to start the nitty gritty. This is where the big bucks are, the drugs I have to take/inject daily are costing £1800 and the rest of the IVF treatment is going to come to around £8000. I will get the money together even if it means working every hour of overtime or maybe selling a kidney but if anyone is happy to give a few quid I’d be forever grateful. Obviously this is nothing compared to the price of becoming a mum but even with all this there’s no guarantee the two cycles of IVF will be successful. I was reluctant to go down this route of helping with the finance side of things but if it helps, for anyone who donates you will then in theory be responsible for a tiny bit of this baby. With this in mind, I will happily let each and every one of you babysit when it arrives ☺️
