Help Me Help Preston

Preston was diagnosed with nasal and throat cancer.  Preston has lived with me for 10 1/2 years, being consistently loving, understanding, supportive, playful, and affectionate.  He is the rock upon which I recovered from severe depression.  He has also brought joy, affection, and inspiration to many others, whether in Houston parks or the children of clients in troubling family law conflicts.

My hopes and prayers were answered when a canine oncologist advised me that, with proper diagnostics and radiation treatment, the tumor can be substantially reduced or eliminated, enabling this sweet and giving dog to eat, drink, and breath comfortably and without pain.  I have put away over $11,000 for a dog emergency fund.  But, this level of care is likely to cost $16,500. I am hoping to raise $4000, and add $2000 from my future earnings, to get the care Preston needs -- and deserves.  The funds will be used to pay the bills at Pearland Animal Cancer Center and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at Texas A&M University.

Raised as I was, it is very difficult to ask for him.  I still frequently do not, for myself.  For Preston, though, I would sell my left arm -- because I have never known such giving, love, and loyalty as from the fluffy friend.
