I am Dr. Stacey Patton, award-winning journalist, author, and nationally recognized child advocate. I’d like to Introduce "Not My Cat" - a heartwarming and hilarious tale of friendship and nurture, hope and connection waiting to be shared in challenging times. "Not My Cat" is more than just a children's book - it's a beacon of joy, a tale of unexpected friendships, and a reminder that love knows no bounds.

Meet Staceypants, a meticulous homeowner who finds her orderly life turned upside down by a scruffy gray cat. Despite her initial reluctance, Staceypants and the cat embark on a journey filled with laughter, porch yoga sessions, and heartwarming moments. But when the cat disappears, Staceypants realizes the true depth of their bond.

The book is scheduled for release by Denene Millner Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, on April 23, 2024. April is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month. I believe that every child, especially those who are survivors of child abuse and neglect, deserve the gift of literacy, regardless of their circumstances. That's why I’m launching a special fundraiser to bring "Not My Cat" to 5,000 children in need.
