Help me continue med school and reach my USMLE

Hi!

My name is Tiara, and I suck at asking for help (Here Goes *Deep Breath*). I am a rising third year medical student looking for help to complete my medical training. I’ve been squeezing my pennies together by bartending nights and babysitting, but I’ve fallen short of my goal. My family has helped me get this far in my academic career but with my baby brother starting college in the fall, finances are strained.

This money will allow me to participate in a study program that’s required for medical students to sit for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensure Exam). The 4-week program is out of state and there is no financial aid or student loans available for it. Factor in housing for a month, travel cost and living expenses… I’m in danger of my hard work going up in smoke.

My passion for  science and medicine is driven by the connection that I have to my Grandmother. Watching Alzheimers Disease slowly take her away from me over the last 12 years has been devastation. I’ve decided to  dedicate my studied to one day finding a cure! I live for the brief moments when she opens her eyes and smiles at me, not because she knows who I am, but because it gives me hope that she’s still in there somewhere.

I would love to help eradicate this disease so that no family will have to feel to pain of watching a loved one become a shell of their former selves. Helping me match with a good hospital would go a long way toward me reaching this goal.
