Help Taurean Bridge his NYU Tuition Gap

My name is Taurean Moore and I am immensely excited to have been accepted to and attend the illustrious New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts’, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television. I have applied to a plethora of private scholarships, to which I am still awaiting results. I also submitted portfolios and essays to apply to NYU’s Tisch Scholarship, as well as, a scholarship with my high school.  I am Proud to say that I have NOW been awarded $77,645 in scholarships and $3171 in donations to total $80,816, but I am still short of the total amount needed to attend for the year.  The total cost of attendance is $87,258.  My part-time job as a lifeguard with the City of Atlanta last summer (2020) was brought to a standstill, due to the pandemic, and the income from this position was an integral part of funding for my education. I have been lifeguarding again this summer (2021), but this weekend (July 25th) the City of Atlanta closed all pools until further notice, yet again affecting what I had hoped to contribute.  I need to finish paying tuition and raising the money to purchase the Macbook Pro required for all Film Students. The tuition is due by August 3rd and the Macbook Pro must be purchased by August 31st.

I am a class of 2021 Honor’s Graduate, finishing with a 3.8 GPA.  I am proud to say that I accomplished this feat while lettering in both my high school’s Swim and Track Team, being the Captain of my competitive year-round club swim team, Healthy Lifestyle Healthy Kids (HLHK), as a Georgia Youth Unified Partner for the Special Olympics, helping mentally disabled athletes perform in sports that they love, and in the midst of a pandemic.  Performing well in these extracurricular activities, while also maintaining a high GPA with rigorous AP and Dual Enrollment classes with Georgia State University taught me how to manage my time well, as well as, my priorities, especially amid the flexibility that came with less structure during the pandemic.  This period of understanding was important and vital toward my maturity and growth as an overall person and has set me up well to be able to handle the rigor of a college setting.  While attending college, I would like to learn about the many aspects of the film industry and specialize in Post-Production/Editing. This entire experience last year and this summer has been one that tested my will and grit and I am proud to now be on the cusp of fulfilling my dream to attend NYU.  Please help me to fulfill this dream by assisting in closing the gap for my remaining college tuition and fees.  Thank you.
