Two-spirit Inuk artist medical support

I am a 2-spirit Inuk artist that is trying to recover from a painful chronic condition that has required me to spend the past seven months going to the hospital every two weeks for a chemical burn treatment to manage excess tissue growth at a surgical site, with the initial procedure failing to resolve this issue. This has come after a year of medical gaslighting and racism that denied me referrals to specialists to have this treated much earlier.

During this time I have been working to support myself through a professional young artist training program and my art practice to supplement income while waiting to go through the bureaucracy heavy process of applying for disability, which can take months to be approved and appealed if not accepted at first.

I have had to focus on taking opportunities to pay my bills over keeping up with my treatment, as the current healthcare system is overbooked and has not been able to align with my availability and capacity to endure the painful procedure every two weeks, each time requiring me to spend more time to rest to heal and maintain cleanliness to the affected area. As this is a reproductive health issue it is very painful and sensitive. I am struggling with nerve pain and other details that make it difficult to manage day to day.

Any donations will support me in keeping up with rent, sanitary and personal hygiene products, food on days of treatment and recovery, and transportation to and from my hospital appointments until I can hopefully get on disability.

I am currently at a stage in my career that is giving me more opportunities to grow as an artist but I will not be able to sustain this unless I am able to take time to focus on my health and healing.
