Help Matty Egberts Hit Liver Cancer for Six

Hi, my name is Brad Molenkamp and I am the President of the Bathurst City Colt Sporting Club and my mission is to raise funds for a cricketer and clubman and friend of ours Matty Egberts, who needs support to meet his day-to-day living expenses whilst he undergoes treatment for his second cancer.

Matty has played well over one hundred games of cricket for our club but also against Bathurst cricket clubs, scored thousands of runs and taken many wickets, however he is now going to hit Liver cancer for six.

Matty was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September 2022 and after chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery to remove the cancer, temporary colostomy and reversal surgery. Matty is still working through re-training his bowel to adjust to having lost a significant portion of his bowel.

Matty was given a full bill of health in January this year however some regular checkup scans have found 3 new cancers in his Liver. These 3 cancers are localised to an area of the Liver that will allow them to be surgically removed along with that part of his Liver.

Matty has surgery scheduled for the 18th March 2024 and his surgeon has indicated that this will increase his chances of survival.

Matty will then have up to 8 weeks of recovery and is not able to work and we would love to be able to support his ability to meet his day-to-day living expenses as well as those of his two children, Cadence 11 and Christopher 8.

As a 'cricket community' along with the many of us that have been impacted by Cancer, I am asking that we donate to this really important cause and help Matty overcome his new challenge.
