Help Matt See Again-Beating Lebers

I am writing this on behalf of Matt Ferris.
In April 2017 at the age of 22 Matts eyesight slowly started deteriorating. In August 2017 after loosing a serious amount of vision in both eyes he was diagnosed with Lebers (LHON) now 23. This is a rare genetic disease that affects the cells in the optic nerves causing almost complete blindness. Since August Matts eyesight has still continued to get worse to a point he needs help with all aspects of daily life and is a serious struggle for him and everyone around him. During this time Matt has had his driving license taken away and just recently lost his job and is now currently unemployed. Things that used to be normal for him like going to the shops, out with friends or even going to the gym are now almost impossible, at least without a great deal of help.
We have discovered that there is a chance that stem cells will help to regain eyesight though there is no guarantee that the treatment will work or to what degree of recovery it will lead to. Despite this in the circumstances a small chance is a chance worth taking at any cost and unfortunately the cost of stem cells do not come cheap. This is why he needs the help of friends and family to give matt the chance to gain some of his eyesight back.
We know its a lot to ask as it isnt certain that the treatment will give the required results but we are willing to try anything that gives him half a chance of leading a normal life again.
We're in the process at the moment of finalising the details, but we hope to have this done in May/June 2018 in China
