Help Mason Regain Her Independence

DAYTON AND I ARE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP
Friends of Mason Morris and the Morris Family

Please consider helping Dayton and me raise funds to help our lifelong friend, Mason Morris.  Mason is the daughter of Kirby and Susie Morris of Quincy. She is a 2005 graduate of Robert F. Munroe Day School and a die-hard FSU fan. Mason has been a dedicated and constant member of both the Bobcat nation and the Seminole baseball family for a number of years.  She's a best friend to all and is loved by so many!
Mason was born with spina bifida, uses a wheelchair to ambulate, and has lived independently for many years. Unfortunately, chronic poor circulation in her lower legs lead to the amputation of both legs at the knee over the past three weeks.  Despite this setback, Mason remains optimistic and is ready to move to rehab this week and begin regaining her independence. Her health challenges required her to leave a job that she loved at the Department of Corrections in August. She will move into a home in Tallahassee that she is renting to own from her parents once she leaves rehab. The home needs significant modifications in order to accommodate her and her wheelchair. These necessary modifications are costly, with a low end estimate of $15,000.
Another source of safety and independence for Mason is a trained service dog. This service dog would help her with balance, transferring, routine assistance around the house, and would be able to summon help if necessary. Most of the various organizations have a five year wait for such a companion. Her family has found a trainer in Tallahassee who could begin the six month training at a cost of $1,200 a month in just a few months.  Total cost for the dog and training is around $15,000.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 for home modifications and an assist dog. Any extra funds will go toward further modifications of her car and home.
We all love Mason and many of you have offered your support and asked how you can help.  This is a concrete way that we can help her as she faces these challenges. Dayton and I are asking that you consider helping this wonderful young lady. She and her family mean so much to our community!  If you would prefer not to donate online through Go Fund Me, checks can be mailed to Angie Jones, 501 E 9th Ave, Havana, FL 32333 and made payable to Kirby and Susie Morris.
Please pray for Mason, donate if you can, and SHARE this post! God Bless! Dayton and Angie Jones
