Hello,
My name is Marty Knorp, and I am inviting all of you reading this to please hear my story and help in any way you can. January 4th, 2017 I was injured at work, causing me to have a spinal stroke. After near death I am now left with a severe spinal cord injury. I was paralyzed from the neck down, in the ICU for nearly 3 weeks with a blood pressure of 30/20, and I owe it to many of the outstanding doctors at Beaumont Hospital for saving my life. I've come a long way in 7 months, but my whole body from my neck to my toes is always numb and tingling, I have limited use of my hands, severe pain in my abdomen and lower back that never goes away.
I'm told by doctors that I will never work again. It is very rare for someone who suffered this injury to be alive at this point or in any state other than paralysis, and I am still fighting.
With that being said, the next step in my recovery is to be sent to the #1 Hospital in the nation for treating spinal cord injuries, The Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado, referred by my doctors. There, I can recieve the best care and tests to find out what surgeries I need to fix the problems I still deal with daily. For this to happen, I need $15,000 by mid September. They do not except my insurance, Blue Care Network, or most insurance companies. I will be required to take my wife Josie with me to transport me to and from appointments during my stay. This is the last hope I have for recovering and on a day to day I am barely hanging on. My medical bills are huge, I'm a proud man but not afraid to ask for financial help and prayers. I love all of you and especially life, I will work hard everday to improve my bodily functions that most of us take for granted. Please help me make this dream come true.
