Help Maricela survive "Negligence"
Donation protected
Being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer is devastating but more devastating is knowing all could have been prevented if it wasn't for an act of medical negligence. This is the reasons that motivated me ask you to help Maricela Miramontes and also spread the message so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
When Maricela told me her story laying on that hospital bed and seeing her desire to stay alive to see her kids grow, I knew I had to do something to help her, specially becasue she's my friend and I'm a mother too.
Maricela was diagnosed with breast cancer at age of 35 when her two kids were 5 and 8 years old. It all started with a small lump in her left breast and some pain. She immediately went to see her Doctor who gave no importance and told her "she was too young to have breast cancer". After insisting the doctor finally ordered her a mammogram exam. 3 months passed with no reply from the doctor but her breast started to turn red and pain continued.
Maricela went back to see the doctor , who again said it was all ok and the explanation was that her periods were the reason for the pain and redness. Maricela thought the Doctor had already seen the Mammogram results and went back home calmed.
Three more months passed and a small tumor showed up. This time she went to the Hospital and that day she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, it had already spread to her bones. Unfortunately her doctor never checked the Mammogram results and that changed Maricela and her children's lives forever.
Her tumor turned into many small tumors which she called "the monster". The day she showed me her left breast, I understood why she called it a "MONSTER". ( please see picture). Maricela had to sleep eat and live with this monster for 14 months.
HOW CAN WE HELP ?
High dose (intravenous) VITAMIN C treatment for cancer patient has been proven successful in helping slowing and in some cases stopping the growth of cancer cells. This means it gives cancer patients more time or a cure, which is what we are fighting for.
Unfortunately the health plan does not cover this kind of treatments and with all the costs Maricela and her husband have been through, they only have enough for their basic needs. The money we asking is for a 6 months high dose Vitamin C treatment.
The breakdown of costs are shown on the chart
Thanks to God and your donations, Maricela will survive Negligence.
