*Help Maria Leo get urgent medical help*
Hi, I’m Maria, and while it’s very hard to ask for help as I’m normally a self-sufficient person, here I am. I suffered a stroke on the 28th January followed by 2 seizures on the 29th and I really need your support to find out why these seizures are threatening to change or end my life and change my son’s and my family’s life forever.
This was my second stroke in 4 years and I've been epileptic since then, although I’m young and in good health. My son, Karter, is 7-years-old and I’ve been able to take great care of him and my parents so far.
As a Holistic Practitioner, I help people relax, improve their health, to look and feel better in body, mind and in turn soul; but I cannot continue this wonderful work as I suffer with 1 or more seizures every week.
I have no idea why and that is why I need your donation, any amount you can afford, to make an URGENT trip to Martinique to see a specialist. Every day I remain untreated could be my last.
The weekly seizures have been getting worse since my first stroke 4 years ago. I was told I suffered a parietal stroke associated with seizures and there is bleeding on the right side of my brain. I now have no feeling or taste on the left side of my tongue because I’ve bitten it so often during these painful seizures over the years.
Doctors are at a loss, as my family has absolutely no history of seizures or epilepsy on either side. This makes it more urgent to get help to determine the cause of my spasms and stop my condition from getting worse. I appreciate you also sharing this petition so I can get help as soon as possible.
The seizure medication is not working as efficiently as it should and the dosage has already been increased; because of existing allergies to NSAIDS I can’t take aspirin normally prescribed after a stroke. I am constantly in pain as paracetamol only eases the headaches for less than 2 hours and I can only take it every 6 hours.
Imagine being unable to play with your child for too long, laugh to hard, listen to music, get too hot, to have had to stop exercising or even moderate walking as all of these worsen my headache, which in turn can trigger a life-threatening convulsion. This trip to can provide urgent answers and with the boarders being closed due to this Pandemic making it more difficult and of course more expensive to get to Martinique.
