Help Maria be the future of film!

Hi, I am Maria Michael. I am a filmmaker and director with an academic background in Political Science and Drama. After a few years of looking for my path as an artist and working professionally in the film industry, I finally found my calling - directing.

 

Through my filmmaking, I want to bring to the surface my female voice. As a woman, I find it imperative to collaborate with other women and artists to tell our unique and individual stories. I am influenced by my family from Cyprus and the long history of struggle that my people have faced. Those I have met throughout my life and what I see in my dreams serve as inspiration for my work as well.

 

I was accepted into the Masters's program for directing at MET FILM SCHOOL in London. I am fundraising to have the assurance to be able to commit full time to study, focus on my filmmaking, as this is an intense one year program, and successfully complete the final project - a short film. This is an invaluable opportunity for me to evolve my skills and be ready to enter the film industry professionally as a director.
