Sadly, upwards of 70% of women are impacted by this condition, and research into the cause is practically noon-existent. Thankfully, with help from Covered California, I've been able to purchase health care insurance and have a surgery date to remove at least 15 fibroids tumors this August 25th! Unfortunately, short term disability only covers 60-70% of income, and though I work full time, that amount just covers my financial responsibilities in normal times. So I need to ask for help to cover life and medical costs.
