Help Luke Get His Service Dog

Donation protected
Luke was diagnosed at age of 7 with the neuromuscular disease Duchenne which is a severe non-curable fatal muscular disease.  At age nine he lost his ability to walk and moved full time into a wheel chair, slowly although some days it did not feel slow he lost his ability to handle daily functions we take for granted.  Now at the age of sixteen, Shellie and I take care of his day to day needs.

Luke’s service dog will be individually trained to do work or perform tasks for him, giving him more independence and the ability to shape his own days. This service dog will open doors, get things for him dropped or across the room, and last but not least get mom or dad when they are out of the room or house.

We will be traveling to Milton GA and attending Camp to meet Luke’s future best friend, create a bond and train with the dog the last 17 days of June.  The cool thing about this dog is, it will pick Luke and become a confidant and caretaker.  The bond created at this camp will last for the rest of their lives through thick and thin.

Funds are needed to cover the cost of the camp, food at night during camp (breakfast and lunch are included), travel costs to and from GA, as well as set up cost for the dog in our home. The journey with this disease has been very expensive and we want to make sure this is does not affected by our ability to provide this trip and dog for Luke.
