Help Lucy go to UWC, the school of her dreams

Hi everyone, my name is Lucy. I'm 16 years old and I live in Dalmeny, a small regional town on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. I am very passionate about maths and science, and am currently taking Year 11 Physics, Chemistry, Advanced and Extension Maths. After living through the bushfires that ravaged the bushland around us and threatened to destroy our town I have joined the local Rural Fire Service as a junior volunteer along with another close friend who has since moved to Tasmania on an awesome journey of his own. When I complete my schooling I hope to pursue a career in space and hopefully one day make it to Mars! Otherwise I am interested in becoming an International Human Rights Lawyer or diplomat. Whatever I end up doing I hope that I will be able to travel, whether it's internationally or interplanetary!
Recently, I had the incredible honour of being offered a place and partial scholarship to complete year 11 & 12 at the United World Colleges Dilijan campus in Armenia. This is a dream come true for me!
The goal of UWC is to unite young people from all around the globe to gain a unique insight and understanding into the lives of others and celebrate their differences and encourage them to become agents of social change in the world.
This school offers the amazing experience of studying the International Baccalaureate in another country with other like-minded students who believe in creating a better future for us all. Think Greta Thunberg and Jacinda Ardern! (not that these ladies went to UWC ) but these are the kind of people that the college strives to empower. Some notable alumni of UWC include Ian Khama, the former President of Botswana and Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada and astronaut. I can only hope to contribute as much good to our world as these amazing people have.
This year in August, I will be heading off to Dilijan to start this incredible two year journey. However, despite the generous financial scholarship I have been awarded, there is a gap between the cost of attendance, board and airfares - hence my reason for a Go Fund Me request. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me and any assistance would be forever appreciated!
