Help us to get Chermond a new home in Norwich

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of CHERMOND and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

I am the eldest granddaughter of the founders of Chermond Gymnastics club, Cherie and Raymond Alcock. They started the NON-PROFIT club well over 40 years ago in the hopes to offer children of low income families an opportunity to learn the sport. In the 40 plus years of this club's existence, Chermond has become an ever growing and evolving activity center for the community. It has provided countless children so many wonderful opportunities such as performing live on Blue Peter, performing at Walt Disney World in Florida numerous times, competing at regional, national, and international competitions and even winning medals for Great Britain in the 1993 Junior World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships. Over the years, the club gained a huge interest in circus and began circus skills classes along side the artistic and acrobatic gymnastic classes. In turn, this has created a lasting effect on numerous members of the club that have since gone on to have professional careers as circus artistes. These exciting lifestyles would have otherwise been almost impossible to venture into without Chermond.  My grandparents and every single coach throughout the years have given up their time daily to voluntarily run this club without seeing a single penny. No one gets paid. Every single fundraiser or display that has earned the club any money has always gone straight back into the club for equipment or rent.  It's a true testament to the love people have for this amazing club.

Sadly, when the pandemic hit in 2020, the gymnastics club struggled financially and sadly, love alone, was not enough to keep Chermond afloat. After too many months of being closed due to government guidelines and nothing coming in, Chermond has had to close doors permanently and evacuate their current unit as they simply ran out of rent money. They're now stranded, with nowhere to go. Most of the equipment is being sold but we are still fighting to hopefully re open again in the future in a smaller venue so we are having to store the basic gymnastics equipment. We desperately ask for your help now so that the club isn't lost forever.

We desperately need to raise funds to find another training premises. Anything that you can donate will go a long way to save Chermond Gymnastics club.  Please help us create more incredible friendships, skills, and memories for generations to come. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
