Help Lucas Overcome His Brain Tumor

Donation protected
Lucas was your typical 5 year old boy. Paw Patrol and time with his grandma were some of his favorite things. All of that changed with one visit to the ER where his family discovered that Lucas has had a slow growing brain tumor possibly his entire life . It has grown to be so invasive around his brain that at this time, the doctors do not feel they can remove it.

I am close friends with Lucas' grandmother, Janine. Me and others have joined in helping the family with prayer, parking passes, food, encouragement, and more.

With the new news that Lucas’ tumor will respond to chemo treatment, the family is wanting to start treatment ASAP, but we can’t do that without your help. Even with insurance, treatment costs are really high, as well as the need for more scans and tests to see how the tumor is responding etc. We have been so blessed by everyone reaching out with words of encouragement and giving. We couldn’t have gotten this far without you.

This is the story of how Lucas' life changed in a moment:

The morning of Friday, April 26, 2019, Lucas Compton was a “normal” 5-year old boy. That evening, he was playing with his friends when he fell and hit his head on a dresser. A little later, he started showing signs of difficulty: pain in his left hand, tremors, and his left eye moving erratically. His mom, Jessica, immediately took him to the nearest emergency room, arriving around 10:30 pm.

The doctors at his local hospital did a CT scan and notified Jessica that Lucas had a "significant" brain tumor. Lucas was transferred to Children's Medical Center in Dallas in the middle of the night by ambulance.

An MRI at Children's Dallas revealed that Lucas had a very invasive brain tumor on the right side of his brain. The tumor is so large and invasive, that it has changed the shape of Lucas’ brain. The neurosurgeon explained because of how invasive the tumor was, it would cause more damage to remove it than to leave it.

On Monday, April 29th a biopsy was done to determine if the tumor is cancerous or not. We are still awaiting results. On Tuesday, April 30th Lucas was discharged to go home as the family awaits results from the biopsy and a plan of action from the doctors.

Updates, pictures of the vehicle purchased, and other information will be added here so you can see how you are helping this sweet boy and his family. We appreciate your gift and can't express how big of an impact it will have for Lucas and his family. Thank you!

This is the only page authorized by the family.
