Help Lovely Regina Xu's Family

Regina Xu (XU, Rong) was a beloved colleague of the Arpin team.  Unfortunately, on June 25, 2017, she was riding her bike and was blindsided by a 5-ton construction truck where she perished.  She was only 25 years old.

Regina warmed up quickly to everyone in the China team, in a short time, including Jim Esposito during his March visit to us.  She came from a small village in Jiangsu Province called Yixin, where her father toiled all of his years so that his only-child could go to college and she did just that, becoming the first in the family to graduate.  Getting her first “real” job with Arpin International China as a Junior Accountant was something that she was proud of and she showed it by coming to work with a smile and enjoyment of her work, every day.  Especially with her desk-mate, Sr Accountant, Elieen Zhang, who is devastated.

The China team is completely numb that we’ve lost our friend and colleague, Regina.  But we are all concerned about her family as they are experiencing trauma and loss, as we speak.  They have also lost their next generation, their hope.  Michael Johnsen and Elieen met with her family on Monday and the pain was obviously excruciating, though they were in shock.  They will have a difficult time to make ends meet, themselves, not to mention to afford funeral costs, hotel, travel and lawyer fees to take care of Regina’s remains in Suzhou city where the accident happened back to their village in Yixin as well as possibly even counseling for their trauma.
