Help Long Covid sufferers rebuild their lives

I was lucky enough to receive the Covid-19 vaccine a couple of days ago as I am classified as a care worker and it occurred to me that if everyone that received the vaccine donated just £1, a significant amount of money could be raised to help support the unfortunate people that suffer from the long term effects of the virus.
I have met people suffering from 'Long Covid' and they are all clearly struggling both physically and mentally. There have been news reports featuring the effects of this phenomenon with sufferers talking about how difficult their lives have become and how they are no longer able to function normally.
The Government have announced funding to look into the long term effects and to find treatments however this illness exists now and is making life difficult for thousands of sufferers, with no apparent end in sight.
There are help groups operating that allow people with Long Covid to talk to each other however the long term prognosis for sufferers is yet unknown and many people are already struggling financially having spent months in lock down and unable to work.
Time is of the essence. People need help now as they struggle to make ends meet and to cope with an illness that as yet has no cure.
