Help Local Farmers & Families Weather the Pandemic

Families and small farmers in West Michigan continue to face economic challenges because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many families are still turning to food pantries to get enough to eat. Local small farms are still facing reduced business, with schools balancing face-to-face and virtual learning, restaurants limiting traffic and hours, and farmers markets operating under new guidelines.
Six partnering organizations (Community Action House, Harvest Stand Ministries, Ottawa Food, St. Frances de Sales, the Salvation Army, and Spectrum Health) are working together to recreate the Farm to Families Local Food Relief Effort. Through the Farm to Families program, we purchase fresh produce from local farms and distribute it through local pantries and organizations. This keeps small farms financially stable and provides healthy produce to food-insecure community members. Last year, this program was a huge success, with 32,400 pounds of produce purchased from local farms and distributed to 4,395 families.
Would you donate to help us raise the funds for the Farm to Families program this year?
