Help little Bennett beat Leukemia!

I'm making this Go Fund Me for my cousin Ashley Cleugh, her husband Gilbert Cleugh, and their beautiful children, Madeline and Bennett. On September 17, 2023, Ashley and Gilbert's life was turned upside down when they learned the devastating news that little Bennett (only 4.5 months' old) has acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

This diagnosis has come as a shock to all of Bennett’s family and friends. Bennett was rushed to the BC Children's Hospital where he is currently receiving the best care available. Unfortunately, the Ronald McDonald house was full, so Gilbert has been staying in a hotel while Ashley stays in hospital with Bennett. A spot becomes available tomorrow at the Ronald McDonald house but only until the 25th of September. It is unknown right now whether Ash and Gil will be able to secure a more permanent and affordable housing solution.

Please consider donating financially to assist with costs for:

- lodging in Vancouver for Gilbert and Madeline.

- Commuting back and forth from Duncan to BC Children's Hospital for Gilbert and Madeline, as Ashley stays with Bennett.

- Gilbert’s lost wages in the time needed to support Ashley at the hospital (Ashley is currently on maternity leave).

- Medication that is not covered under MSP.

- Additional gas and food expenses.

At this time, the treatment plan for Bennett is still developing and it is not known how long he will need to be in hospital. It could be 6 weeks, or it could be more than 6 months. Unfortunately, the prognosis for infant leukemia (under one years’ old) is far worse than for older children. The treatment is going to be aggressive and the journey to recovery is going to be a long and challenging one.
