Please join me in supporting a wonderful person who was recently in a horrible accident that left her with two broken legs. Laura Ploss was hit by a car while riding her bike. Laura has already had surgery on both legs to take care of the broken bones, but they cannot even access the soft tissue damage, which will likely require more surgeries next year. She will not be able to put weight on her legs for 12 weeks. Her PT and OT work after that will take months. After a week in the hospital, Laura is living in a rehab center to learn how to do some small basic things (all without moving or bending her legs) for a couple of weeks. In the meantime, Charlie is working to prepare their house with a ramp and other modifications. As a nanny to small children, Laura is suddenly unemployed with no disability insurance. As a close friend, I know that the financial pressures are disrupting their ability to focus on healing.

Laura, her husband Charlie, and their boys are the first people to lend a hand and drop everything to help people. I feel so helpless right now and hope that we can alleviate some of the pressure of a sudden loss of income. Thank you for considering supporting them, even if you don't know them.
