Help launch Sensational SciFest for kids in Tampa

At Scientists Inc, our mission is to create new connections between people and science. We look for ways to foster a safe and engaging environment for people of all ages to enjoy science- often learning directly from the research scientists doing the work themselves.

For most children, school science fairs are their first introduction to the scientific method and science exploration. Sensory-sensitive kids tend to be hands-on learners, but the bright lights, loud noise and crowded venues of average science festivals can make it difficult for them to attend or fully immerse themselves in the experience.

Sensational SciFest will be a science festival that puts the needs of these special kids first. We are working with a panel of experts that include people across the sensory spectrum as well as educators and science event specialists to create a truly inclusive sensory science experience that will delight while offering respite with sensory decompression areas at key locations throughout the fair.

Our first of these festivals will be held in conjunction with a local Tampa Bay school. We plan to learn, grow and expand the festival each year, taking a local grass-roots approach.

We’re working to raise money for this event — and it’s been a long road with pandemic delays and constant listening and learning on our part. We are closer than ever to our goal with a grant that offers matching funds. To reach our goal, we need to raise $10,000 by May 30.
