Help Kimberly’s Family Survive Knee Surgery
I am the godmother (madrina) to a humble family, whose mother became my dear friend many years ago during my volunteer days at NPH (Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos).
Last week, their teenaged daughter, Kimberly, was celebrating her good grades, which had put her on her middle school’s Principal’s list. This week, she is limping around on crutches and worried that her accident will destroy the life her dedicated parents have given her.
This energetic girl was jumping on a trampoline with friends when one accidentally fell on her knee, breaking it and sending her to the hospital for surgery. We all have accidents growing up … but this one is devastating because …
Accident = pain plus unplanned medical care and expense
Accident with limited medical insurance = financial downfall of a family
Kimberly’s injury required surgery, along with a two night hospital stay, as well as physical therapy and future doctor visits. The out-of-pocket expenses are estimated to be at least $10,000, which her parents just do not have.
I am asking for your help because I do not have enough funds to help them out entirely on my own. All donations help! If enough of us give up a Frappuccino or two, we can help this lovely family survive. Thank you! PS: Sharing this GoFundMe with your social network also helps a lot and is very appreciated.
