Help Kevin & family recover and rebuild
Hello my name is Sharla and I'm a native New Mexican living in Santa Fe, NM. This is my younger sister Edrina Throckmorton Bell, her husband Kevin and my 7 beautiful nieces and nephews. I've created this fund raiser based on the great and imminent need this family is facing after a life altering event rocked their world.
Kevin was recently injured and while working, contracted a flesh eating bacteria in his left foot.
After an initial surgery to try to save his foot, they had to make the very difficult decision to have
his foot amputated. While the surgery saved his life, he has lost his job and the ability to support
his family. He is facing a long recovery process and mounting medical expenses. They have
never waivered in their faith and believe that they will overcome the daunting circumstances
they are facing, but they will need God's help and yours. Under normal circumstances, Kevin and Edrina would be the ones reaching out to help in any way they could. They have always given to their communities in both NM and TX. They moved their family of 9 to TX due to a job relocation that they hoped would be a grand adventure and mostly it has been until now.
No one could have seen this coming and I've seen this family respond with grace & dignity in spite of it all. They have every reason to be bitter under the circumstances and yet they are putting their resources and energy into healing & recovery. We are all grateful, even though we would have wished for a different kind of miracle, that Kevin is alive and healing. The mountain is high...the medical expenses are great and growing... and they will need to begin the arduous process of moving back to NM to recover & rebuild their lives.
Please give what you can, no gift is too small. Please share their need. Feel free to contact me at my Santa Fe gallery, POP Gallery, if you would like to drop off a gift for them directly.
I will be hosting an art fundraiser through POP Gallery for them as well. In time we will be mailing out an art print by their daughter Eden, who is 17, for gifts over $500.
