I know a very talented and hard-working Nigerian software developer who is now in an emergency situation due to a treatable health problem. I have worked with him and I vouch for him.
He has developed cataracts, and requires laser surgery on both eyes. The deterioration in his eyesight from the cataracts has greatly impeded his ability to work. Due to resulting loss of income, he has now also lost his home.
Kenny has the following urgent needs, listed in priority order that he will use the funds in the event the total goal is not met:
1) Food, medicine, other basic necessities for next month: $250
2) Rent for an apartment with reliable electric grid access for a year in Lagos, plus fees: $3,500
3) Food, medicine, other basic necessities for next 6 months: $250x6=$1,500
4) Cataract laser surgery for both eyes: $3,000
5) Office table, desk, lamp to improve work environment: $250
