Kellie's battle with Colorectal Cancer

Donation protected
Kellie. An amazing daughter, sister, partner, friend and most importantly, a new mum

We should not be having to write this, in no way is this fair. But here we are. On the 17th of November, Kell was given the heartbreaking news that she has a nasty tumour growing in her bowel.

Kell had been experiencing pain the last 18+ months with many of her symptoms written off as pregnancy or post-partum pains. After several visits to the doctor and emergency departments, with a few postponed colonoscopies due to COVID, she was finally given the procedure that she needed. Which resulted in the diagnosis of Colorectal Cancer.

Within hours she was sat in a Surgeon's office, addressing what the next 6-12 months might look like. After undergoing another 4 procedures, they were finally able to map out a process to ultimately cure the cancer.

With surgery and chemotherapy being inevitable and the possibility of radiotherapy, Kell has a long road ahead. Meaning that she will have lengthy hospital stays, where she will not be able to see her 3 month year old daughter due to the ‘unvaccinated’ being unable to visit.

As imagined the entire process is overwhelming, with Kell leaning on her support system more than ever. Particularly her partner Jeremy, and her mum, Jane, who has been given the harsh reality that the next 12 months would be spent caring for Kell and her gorgeous little girl Sophia.

Unfortunately this diagnosis and treatment plan will continue to impact Kellie's life beyond the next 12 months. One of the many side effects of the radiation is the impact it can have on a woman’s infertility. Kellie and Jeremy want nothing more than to continue growing their family and give gorgeous Sophia siblings to grow up with. Therefore, another step in this process will be harvesting Kellie's eggs to increase the chances to make this possible.

The purpose of this fundraiser is ultimately to aid the out-of-pocket costs over the course of treatment. Including the fertility treatment and processes that will continue for years to come. As well as to reduce financial stress from Jane as she takes a step back from work to focus her energy on Kell's health and Sophia's well-being for the foreseeable future.

With so many people reaching out and wanting to help, this may be a way you could have a huge impact and it will be sincerely appreciated.

We are sending nothing but positive thoughts, prayers and love to Kellie, Jeremy, Sophia and family during this overwhelmingly difficult time.

Thank you for your support
