Help Keep Leslie’s Pharmacy Going!
My name is David Holmberg. Most of my customers know who I am. If you don’t know, I am the son of the owners of Leslie’s Pharmacy. My parents are Warren & Donna Holmberg and have owned and operated the business since 2005.
My mom has since retired, but my father is still the owner and Pharmacist in charge at the store. Warren actually just celebrated his 30th anniversary of working for Leslie’s Pharmacy.
The former owner, Leslie Leland, sold the business to my father in October 2005 and has been our landlord since.
I am creating this page as a way to help my father during such a difficult time in the world. My Dad is too proud to ever ask for help, so I am reaching out instead.
Whoever knows my Dad, knows that he will give you everything he has and not ask for payment or recognition in return. He has dedicated himself to this business way before he could even call it his own. He may not have a cape, but he is a true Superhero.
This pandemic has hit the world hard including our beautiful island we call home. My staff has been trying to be as helpful and positive during this time of uncertainty. I know we have keptour doors closed to the public, but it is to keep everyone safe.
That being said, bills do not stop during this. We still need to keep the shelves stocked, in the pharmacy and front store, for customers. I can’t just decide to stop carrying a medication that someone needs.
I am reaching out to the community for any help during this time. We need to make sure rentis paid and payroll is covered. If not, we wouldn’t be able to help the people we do on a daily basis.
The most tragic part would be losing a staple business from Main St Vineyard Haven. The pharmacy has been around for many years and has helped so many people. I love hearing the stories of when there was a soda fountain and people would come to hang out. It drives me to want to keep this business going
We appreciate any amount donated and don’t expect anything. I am doing this for my father without his knowledge. He has done everything for me in my life, it’s my turn to return the favor. I’m sure Warren has helped you or your family at some point. He’s an honest and humble man that I can proudly call Dad.
