Help Keep Inner City Pizza's Doors Open

Who we are:

Inner City Pizza has been family owned and operated for over a decade on Rockville Road. Since 2010, the city of Avon and the larger Indianapolis community have been supporting us and enjoying our pizza. One of the owners, Herb Sturgis, can often be heard saying, "I put our pizza up against any of the big chains," and anyone who has eaten at Inner City can agree. We use good ingredients to make good pizza.

Why we need help:

Through every economic hardship, Covid restriction, and surprise equipment failure we have always done our best to stay open and keep serving the best local pizza you can find. Recently we received the distressing news that we were going to be kicked out of our long-established location and we'd have to shut our doors permanently.

As it stands our final day of business is Sunday, February 26th.

Obviously, we didn't get a lot of notice.

Word got around quickly through Facebook and Nextdoor pages. The outpouring of support from the community was touching and more appreciative than you can know. Nobody at Inner City wants to stop what we do. We love making pizza, we love seeing our regulars, and we love meeting new ones; but this is a pretty steep obstacle for us. The realities of running a business combined with the state of the economy means that we can't just pick up and move everything to a different building with only about a month's notice. But we'd sure like to.

How you can help:

So we're turning to you all to help make that happen. Conservatively we're estimating $30,000 in fees related to moving all of our equipment as well as getting everything established in a new space. We guarantee all money raised will go directly into Inner City Pizza. The first priority is moving and start-up. Anything left after that will go towards improving the business.

Anything at all you can give is a big help. And even if you can't then we'd appreciate you coming in and getting some pizza while you still can. The increased business will help the owners stay on their feet while all our options are explored.
