Help Keep Dawn and Her Business Afloat

Hello, my name is Dawn Moran. I am the owner of Jack N' Jills Cuts for Kids in Ventura, California. It is a children's hair salon which I have owned since 1994. I do all age groups and I specialize with children who are special needs, on the spectrum, and who are fearful of haircuts. Many people depend on me to do this specialized work as I am the only one in a wide area who has the ability and experience to work with these types of children. I am passionate for my work and am very grateful for my business. However, recently things have taken a turn. Not only was there a great financial impact during Covid (closures, fear from community to go out etc.) but now I have managed to deeply injure my right shoulder (broken and chipped bone) which will put me out of work for up to 6-8 weeks.

I was hiking in the Ventura Foothills, when all of the sudden I had practically stepped on a snake! Not sure what kind, but this sent a wave of fear throughout my body which I could not control. I took off running, and in the moment had not realized there was a size-able dip in the trail. I slipped and fell and was unable to brace properly. The impact immediately fractured my shoulder, which hurt tremendously. Then I had to hike for miles back home whilst in pain, which was such a challenge in of itself!

The doctors of-course tell me there will be absolutely no lifting of my right shoulder until it is fully healed. So there is no way for me to work until then. This will put a large financial strain on myself and my business, which as I said before, due to Covid, is already facing difficulty. So now I turn to you, the community, my friends and clients and whoever else out there feels sympathy and is willing to help. I ask for your assistance, to help support myself and my family (who are very dependent on me) and to help keep my business open. Anything and everything is greatly appreciate, I love you all so much and am working hard to heal as quickly as possible so that I can see all of your smiling faces again!
