Help Katie's Fight: Mother & Unborn Child's Battle

In times of crisis, the strength of our community and the kindness of strangers often shine the brightest. Today, I reach out to you on behalf of my remarkable sister, Katie, whose story of resilience and love is both inspiring and heart-wrenching.

Katie is the epitome of strength and determination, a devoted single mother of three and expecting her fourth child. She navigated the challenges of single parenthood while pushing through truck driving school, striving to provide a better life for her children. Her dedication led her to a position at Hogan Trucking Company, where she worked tirelessly until unforeseen circumstances led to her layoff on January 1st, 2024.

Tragedy struck on January 18th, 2024, in a way none of us could have anticipated. I found Katie collapsed in her driveway in the snow, she was rushed to the ER, and subsequently transferred to the Cleveland Clinic. The diagnosis was dire: a hemorrhagic stroke had left her in critical condition, with a significant brain bleed and left-sided paralysis.

Currently in the neurovascular ICU, Katie faces an uphill battle. The medical team's priority is twofold: to stabilize Katie and ensure the safety of her unborn child throughout various procedures and tests. It's a delicate balance requiring the utmost skill and care.

This GoFundMe is my way of helping Katie, her 3 children, and unborn baby during this unimaginably difficult time. The funds raised will be directed towards her medical expenses and to support her living expenses, ensuring that her children are cared for while their mother fights for her life.

Katie's journey is far from over, but her spirit remains unbroken. Known for her resilience and warmth, she has touched many lives. Today, she needs us - her community, her friends, and even those who have never met her but are moved by her story.
