Help Katie Ride For GB!

Katie has been selected to represent Great Britain in a women's open meeting during the FIM Flat Track World Championships in Diedenbergen, Germany on the 16th of July. As one of only a few female speedway riders, this opportunity to ride in an international meeting for her country is a testament to her dedication, drive and ambition to succeed.

 

In addition to the FIM meeting, Katie will also be racing in the Nora British Ladies Championships. Taking place on the Isle of Wight, the competition consists of three rounds. Three qualifying rounds on the 14th, 28th of July and the 2nd of August, which includes the Grand Final.

 

Katie's racing career began at the age of nine when she started racing 125cc grass track bikes in the Formula Grasstrack Association. She sat on her first speedway bike at 13 and progressed to a 500cc speedway bike. She is now part of the Redcar Cubs in the Northern Junior League and is currently riding in her second season with them.

This exciting opportunity has presented itself at short notice but comes with significant expenses, especially with the miles covered. I'm sure everyone is aware of the massive fuel costs, alongside ferry fees, insurance, bike maintenance, oil and tyres.
