Help Katie Beat Metastatic Cancer

Over 20 years ago Katie's fight began with the diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of 34. After treatment, many healthy years followed until in 2019, she learned that the breast cancer had returned, resulting in a double mastectomy. As she recovered, she dreamed of fulfilling her lifelong passion to take the message of Jesus Christ to the mission field.

And so it was in January of 2021, with a fire in her heart for God and her family by her side, Katie and her husband Blaire moved to a remote area in the province of Bocas del Toro, Panama. Sadly, within only 6 weeks of arriving, Katie was flown back to Canada to a diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer, and declared terminal. Conventional treatment offers little hope. Chemotherapy may slow the cancer, but will severely affect her quality of life and will ultimately end in a premature death.

At 58 years old, this hardly seems like a fate fit for our Katie. She is a beautiful person with the ability to touch the hearts of all those she comes across. Her kind nature and love for God gives her a natural passion for people. If you know Katie at all, you will agree that she is a special and truly unforgettable person.

After consulting with oncologists, we were pointed towards Immune Therapy, which helps to “turn on” the immune system naturally so that it can begin to aggressively attack the cancer. It’s a new science that has proven to be highly effective at eradicating cancer, but along with the hope comes a cost, at thousands of dollars per treatment.
