My mom, Kathy Mathis, is the person everyone needs in their life. She is the heart & soul of our family, the ROCK & STRENGTH for anyone who knows her and a hero to countless people. There aren't many genuinely kind, selfless people like her.
My mother has been dealt many bad cards in her life. But with a smile on her face and a "someone else has it harder than me" outlook, she has overcome every single one of them. She is a heart disease survivor, having come through multiple heart attacks, surgeries and countless ICU stays. She is a survivor of breast cancer over a year ago, having undergone chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy.
Now, she is facing cancer again. In November 2019, she got the news the breast cancer had returned aggressively and begun to spread to multiple places. The doctor wanted to waste no time and started chemotherapy weekly.
Chemotherapy hasn't gone as planned, many times having to be skipped due to bad blood work results. Now the decision has been made to stop chemotherapy completely, perform further tests to see whats progressed and start a new treatment plan.
I'm asking for your support financially to help my mother get other opinions and treatment options. Due to her insurance and previous conditions, multiple places, including MD Anderson will not accept her without cash payment. We are desperate to get other opinions and treatments and want all the care we can find.
She would NEVER ask for help and honestly won't be thrilled when she sees this, but I'm asking for my family. Help us help HER and at least relieve the financial burden and stress this is causing.
