Support Kate After Her House Burned Down

Hi! My name is Emilie Sowers, and if you know me, you probably know my sister Kate. And if you know my sister Kate, you love my sister Kate, because that's the only way to know her. She is kind and smart and funny and loyal and one of the most generous people I've ever known.

She also, to be frank, has had some real shitty luck lately, the final (we hope!) act of which resulted in her house being burned to the ground by the wildfires in Eastern Washington.

As you can imagine, there is a lot of rebuilding to do, and not just the house. Kate managed to evacuate in time with a few vital possessions (laptop, phone, documents), but because of the urgency of the evacuation she had to leave everything else behind. This includes not only a lifetime's worth of mementos, but also all of the practical things we all need to get by every day -- toiletries, appliances, clothes, the whole deal.

If you know my sister Kate, chances are she's showed up for you at a time you really needed it, because that's what she does. Now we all have an opportunity to pay her back, for all the generosity and unfailing love she's shown to all of us lucky enough to know her.
