Help Ka'Lon Study Abroad in London

Hello,
I am Ka'Lon Duncanson, a marketing student at the University of Southern Mississippi in my junior year. I am fundraising for USM Study Abroad Program. Funding for tuition can sometimes be challenging as I have no familial financial support, and opportunities like this are rare. Hence, I am kindly seeking sponsors. The entire cost of the trip is $9,663. Funds will go towards program fees, tuition, flight, meals and other necessities while in London. The program date is June 3 - July 1, 2022.
I lived in Freeport, Grand Bahama, and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast after experiencing Hurricane Dorian in 2019. I worked as a scuba diving instructor and tour guide. After the storm, the tourism industry halted, and my job became redundant. Now, I live in Waveland, MS, a small community with extremely kind-hearted residents.

Although the pandemic has negatively affected education globally, I did not allow it to stop me. Since I started USM in 2020, I obtained a student worker position in Student Affairs. Additionally, I immersed myself in several student organizations. I try to be an exceptional student by remaining active on campus, and in my local community. Despite COVID-19, I have learned balance and maintain a 3.5 CGPA.
Recently, I was selected to participate in the British Studies Program in London, United Kingdom. This one-month program offers 10-15 different courses in various disciplines, two of which I will earn six credit hours. This opportunity is essential to me because it will benefit me in many ways:
- Expand my horizons
- Experience new traditions and create friendships
- Career opportunities
- Improve communication and interpersonal skills
I hope you can find it in your heart to donate. I can assure you I will put your donation to good use. Below are some of my achievements and involvement while at USM.
