Help Justyna beat cancer

Donation protected
Friends,

Justyna's GoFundMe campaign has ended. Thank you to all those who have contributed to helping Justyna in her fight against cancer. If you or someone you know is still interested in donation you can do by going to URATOWAĆ ŻYCIE JUSTYNY - Kawałek Nieba
https://www.kawalek-nieba.pl/justyna-drag/.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To all kindhearted and caring people,

My name is Justyna, I am 22 years old and live in a small village in Poland. In 2011 I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Intense headache, double vision and constant nausea left me and my parents no doubt that something horrible is happening to me.

In those few short moments my whole teenage world came crashing down. Before cancer days, I loved singing and playing basketball. To be honest, I was excited as to what the future will bring. Right after the diagnosis I did not understand why me?! Subconsciously, I thought that this is just a bad dream, a nightmare from which I will wake up any moment. Unfortunately, the reality was quite brutal, difficult if not impossible to understand at such young age.

I learned how to fight for my life at the Children's Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw, Poland where I had my first brain surgery. The surgeons did their best to remove the tumor. It took days after the surgery where I was able to talk again and months until I was able to walk.

Hospitals became my home. After a year and a half of constant chemo and radiotherapy treatments I was exhausted both mentally and physically. From that point forward, things slowly started to improve...

Unexpectedly, in 2015 just as we thought that the worst is behind us, the cancer came back. This time, the tumor has spread into my spinal cord. Again, it was back to the drawing board. If this wasn't enough, last year (2017) I have received terrifying news that the tumor cells have enlarged. Unfortunately, the chemotherapy did not help to stop the growth of the cancer cells. With the growth of the tumor I have lost my ability to walk. My condition worsens every day. Worst of all, there is no one left in Poland or Europe who can help me anymore.

Just last month I have been given my final chance/hope to live. The doctors from the Oncology Clinic in Monterrey, Mexico have decided to help. I don't have a lot of time left. The cost of the treatment is very high but I made a promise to myself, my parents, family and friends that until there is hope I will not give up, I will fight to the end.

Not only I ask you, but I beg you for help. I have met many kindhearted people, family, friends, neighbors and strangers who have supported me for the last 7 years both financially, emotionally and spiritually. Please help me if you can. This is my last chance...

Justyna Drag

To all those who do not know me. My name is Lukasz Szymanski and I am Justyna’s cousin. I live with my family in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. All of the proceeds from donations will be send to Justyna and her mother Anna Drag to help them with living and medical expenses while undergoing treatment at the cancer clinic in Monterrey, Mexico. Justyna and her mother Anna are staying at an apartment complex near the clinic at which Justyna underwent the first chemo therapy last week. Current plan is for Justyna to stay in Monterrey at least till the end of July at which time the treatment plan will be re-evaluated. The money from GoFundMe so far has helped to pay for the cost of the apartment rental as well as the cost of the first chemo. As far as the money withdrawls go, I have set up weekly withdrawals to a personal account and later they are being wired to Justyna’s and her mom’s account in Poland. If you would like a proof of the withdrawls and wire transfers please contact me in private and I will be happy to provide you with such information. The photo below is of Justyna showing proof that indeed I am her cousing and that I am authorized to collect donations on her behalf.

Again, I cannot thank you enough. We are all overwhelmed by the support that each of you has shown.

Thank you
Lukasz Szymanski
