Last week, Julie Barr discovered that someone had stolen many items from her home. Because of economic realities in the Bay Area, Julie’s renter’s insurance lapsed after she was unable to pay this bill. Now she is looking at a very large loss and having to deal with it on her own.
Can you help Julie through this economic and emotional blow?
Since Julie moved to El Cerrito, she has loved having a home that she can open to friends and community for gatherings. Just this past weekend she hosted a dozen teen girls who play ultimate frisbee for a team building sleepover. In the short time that Julie has lived in this house, she has offered her space for parent meetings, team retreats, a women’s gathering, a quiet alternative for New Year’s celebrating, and a memorial service.
Julie is working hard and swiftly to take steps to resolve her personal security in her home. Needless to say, this whole process is taking a toll on Julie’s mental health as well. If you want to offer legal/logistical or emotional support, please reach out to Anna first.
