Many of you know, and many don’t, that following COVID in December, Julie was treated with steroids for severe upper back and neck pain and immediately following contracted a type of meningitis and Encephalitis that is still not fully resolved. Doctors currently do not know how to stop the inflammation flare up’s and symptoms that continue to occur. Recent cognitive testing shows a significant impact on brain processing speed (left only in the 5th percentile of those her age) as well as impacting her long and short term memory as well. Doctors are saying that she will never work again. She needs financial help while the disability process is in the works, with basics such as phone bill, groceries, and maintaining health care coverage after losing employer healthcare in June. In September she moved out of her house and in with family to limit expenses and have more help. All donations will go to sustaining basics until this transition period has passed and she begins to rebuild a new and different life.
